Here's the thing: parenting is time-consuming. (You're thinking, No kidding, lady.) But for me it's "can't make time to post a few pictures of kids in 10 months" time-consuming.
I'm amazed every day how we've survived as a species. I wouldn't say I'm a particularly lazy person. Yes, I like to sleep. A lot. But, for most things, I'm willing to work hard to accomplish my goals. There are a lot of people out there less motivated than me. And yet they are parents. And some are great parents. And I remain amazed at how they get it all done and don't feel like scatterbrained failures with less than optimal hygiene who sometimes have trouble forming complete sentences.
Not that I would change it for the world.
But this is where I've been and why I haven't posted. And why my significant other continuously reminds me that child #1 had the first years of her life documented in cyberspace while child #2 is a footnote.
I've missed taking pictures of my kids and sharing them. And so much has happened in the past ten months. Not huge, exciting, earth-shattering things, mind you. Just the simple day-to-day with two small girls. So tonight while Emma and I were hanging out, I dug out my camera, replaced the drained battery and took a few shots.
Here's to less trying to get it all done and more picture-taking!
Got my hula-hoop and Lara bar and I'm ready to take on the world.
Wait. What's that, mom? Is that. . .a camera?
No way! That IS a camera.
