Last year Abby attended her friend Devon's Harry Potter Birthday party dressed as Hedwig the owl. This year she was pleased to go to his Power Rangers party as her sweet self.
Abby is certainly one to Par-T. When she wasn't watching the big kids sling-shot water balloons. . .
. . .she kept herself busy with my scarf.
And though she was worried when Devon pretended to karate chop the cupcake tower. . .
. . .she gobbled up a cupcake with green icing before it was too late. Nom nom nom.
Abby has discovered the deck behind our townhouse. It's a whole new world for exploration.
Turns out the deck is great for chalking. Super-friend Erin gave Abby some sidewalk chalk shaped like eggs. Perfect for her little hands.
She likes to draw with them, but, even more so, she likes collecting them in a circle and then air-mailing them out of the circle. Of course, clean-up is always necessary.
After a year or so of fighting it, I've learned to embrace messes. In fact, now I even encourage them.
Case in point: Abby's first Sensory Box.
That's just a fancy way of saying I put oatmeal in a plastic bin and let her go to town scooping and pouring.
But I didn't expect her to want to sit IN the box. Silly me. Of course, she wanted to sit in the box. Who wouldn't?
