Just a year and already knows what to do with the cell phone. Good or bad?

Photo #4
Pooped out in the car. (Literally and figuratively. Abby is recovering from the stomach bug.)
Poor little stinker. (There I go again!)

Abby woke up at last night 1 AM with an intestinal bug and we've done 15 plus diaper changes since.
It's not pretty, people. Not pretty.
Because Abby was "home sick" today I put on Sesame Street. Lounging around watching TV was always the way I wanted to spend my sick days as a kid.
On the show, Ernie and Bert sent a video via email to Elmo (my, has that show come a long way!). Abby watched the TV Bert and then gave her stuffed Bert some extra special loving.

Birthday Party
We had a little gathering for Abby's birthday yesterday. To be honest, I had been planning for this party since August. Planning in my head, that is.
The internet is a dangerous place, people. Dangerous. And blogs of stay at home moms are the worst. You can find so many brilliant ideas out there. And then you start to think that if they can do it, you can do it. You can be Martha. But Martha has a full staff. And who knows what those other moms have. I have a hot glue gun.
Anyway, the party was small and simple. And yet somehow I managed to look like this by the time the first guests arrived. . .
There were decorations. . .
and food and drinks. . .
and a time capsule of notes for Abby to read when she turns eighteen.
Abby had a costume. . .
and there were gifts (on which she enjoyed standing.)
We had a makeshift Photobooth.
And there was cake, of course.
Abby was so thankful for all who attended. . .especially her Bert doll.

Many of my friends have participated in various photo-a-day projects, posting pictures of themselves or family members on Flickr or their own blogs. I've been envious. I've never had the guts to do it because I'm not great with accomplishing tasks on a daily basis when in the throes of chaos. Unfortunately, most days are filled with chaos, and I fail at regularly scheduled tasks like remembering to drain the water out of the humidifier or clean the litter box.
So, photos every day? Too much of a commitment.
But today I say "Poo on that!" I'll give it a shot and see how far I get. (I predict I won't lasta month a week three days.) And what a better time to start then right after Abigail's birthday, I say.
The morning after her birthday party. Love that hair.

One Year
One year of Abigail Grace. Perfection.
Warning: This video is over six minutes long. It would have been three times that, but the husband was allowed input.

Spiderman
I ask my husband to do something for me like hang a picture or install new windshield wipers. Three weeks later I remind him again. Three weeks after that it gets done.
Abby tried to make her battery-operated Spiderman sing and dance, but its batteries were dead. It's the kind of toy that requires a screwdriver to open the battery compartment and I hadn't had a chance to replace them. I casually mentioned Abby's disappointment at the stoic Spidey and he said "Give it to me." Six minutes later and the toy was good to go. Humph.
