One Month Emma

Fourteen facts about Miss Emma:
  1. She's chunky.  I can't stop squeezing those fat thighs and upper arms.
  2. She makes noises that sound like a monkey.
  3. Her lips are a deeper pink around the edges so it looks like she's always wearing lip liner.
  4. She's gassy.  Very. Very. Gassy.  The frequency, volume, and odor of her farts will rival that of any adult.  (Don't know where that trait came from.  Let's just say it wasn't me.)
  5. She doesn't like being in a car seat if she's awake.  Prepare for full-on crying the entire ride.
  6. Sometimes her lower lip quivers when she's picked up.
  7. She likes her back patted, but not rubbed.
  8. She likes getting a bath, but not getting dressed after a bath.
  9. Her hair is so incredibly soft.
  10. She likes to suck on her hands, occasionally a thumb.
  11. She can sleep through Abby hovering over her, shouting "Wake up, Emma!"
  12. She seems proud of her big strong neck that can now hold up her head.
  13. When she's really excited about something she pants like a dog.
  14. She's mellow.  Super mellow.  As long as she's not hungry, or tired, or gassy, or cold, or hot, or awake in a car seat, or needs to be held or rocked, or needs to change her position, or needs to burp, or needs to poop.  Yes, if all of those conditions are met, then Emma is the most mellow of infants.
Sweet Emma, you are one of a kind.
