Buttons and Beads

My mother thinks that Abby will pursue a career that involves meticulous work with her hands.  She's envisioned Abby as an artist, mechanical engineer, nail stylist, and assembly-line factory worker.  I tossed surgeon into the mix.  Abby loves using her fingers to press, pull, twist, pinch, pour, carry and push anything.  Some examples. . .

She recently discovered the microwave.

Thinking about pressing that button?  Go ahead.

Yes, it makes a satisfying beep, doesn't it?

After microwave time I brought out some colored glass beads.  Abby spent well over a half hour transferring the beads from a plate to a plastic container by way of a scoop.  FYI, half an hour of concentrated activity for Abby is like four hours in adult time.

Picking up a bead.

Into the scoop.

Drop it in the bucket.

And repeat.
Thirty minutes.  Straight.
Amazing.
